Your company places great emphasis on the economic and environmental benefits of the solutions provided. Describe what key projects aeqoom is currently implementing.

We are constantly looking for ways to make our solutions and services more efficient. Last year, our development focused on several key areas. The first of these is the Field Service Management (FSM) system. It is a tool used to manage predictive as well as routine maintenance and installations. This application uses augmented reality and artificial intelligence to increase efficiency, quality and reduce costs. We presented it at the international trade fair Logimat in Stuttgart. We have also ventured into robotic transport and sorting, where we now offer a complete range of robotic solutions.

What does the FSM system bring to logistics?

FSM is an external cloud service that connects internal and external technical specialists through augmented reality. It uses the Rest-API architecture, which enables easy integration with the environment of logistics and e-commerce companies, as well as production, service and assembly organizations. Users of this software can monitor, manage, plan and control the quality and level of services provided. Thanks to FSM, we reduce service costs, the number of breakdowns and technological shutdowns. Cost savings average more than 30 percent.

You also offer a Retrofit program. What does it consist of?

Retrofit means upgrading existing systems and equipment to meet current technical and environmental standards. In practice, this means that we refurbish old conveyors, equip them with new components and equip the entire installation with modern wiring and PLC systems. The benefits of this approach are significant – not only will we significantly reduce the cost of acquiring new equipment, but we will also minimize the ecological footprint of the entire project. Our goal is the efficient use of existing resources, which is both economical and sustainable.

In which logistics operations have you succeeded with retrofits?

Thanks to retrofits, we have achieved several significant successes with our clients. For example, at Hermes Fulfillment, we did not only modernized their conveyors, but also improved the overall efficiency and reliability of their logistics operations. With the new SCADA, PLC and FSM systems, the customer can now monitor and effectively control the entire process. We have not only reduced operating costs, but last but not least improved environmental sustainability. Retrofit is the right way to reduce the carbon footprint of business and reduce project costs. At Hermes, we utilized all available material for the solution in hall A. In hall G, we have already put new conveyors and sorters into operation.

You have made great progress in the area of designing solutions…

Yes. It's true. We have invested in improving our services. We now have software for simulating highly complex production systems and control strategies. This enables our customers to model, simulate and visualize production and logistics systems and optimize material flow and resource utilization at all levels of planning. We use it to analyze and simulate production and logistics flows, plan throughput and capacity, and design robotic and automation processes. The design and the implementation time of the entire solution are thereby significantly more efficient. This saves money both for ourselves and, above all, for our customers.

How does aeqoom approach sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint?

We are strongly oriented towards ecology. Our goal is to achieve carbon neutrality in the first step. We have already been producing all the electricity we need for our business at our own photovoltaic power plants. This includes the production of energy for our car fleet, which is already 33% hybrid and 17% pure electric cars.

What do you plan for the future?

We moved to new premises in mid-June. You can now find us at Logport Prague West in Jinočany. We have offices, showroom, production and R&D centre here. When implementing the project, we placed great emphasis on the quality of the work environment both for office jobs and for the people in production. The new premises also provide us with sufficient space for our R&D. We are now bringing customers a showroom, where it will be possible to see a number of technologies for robotization and automation in real operation.
